Christmas shopping.

The chirping of social media like Twitter is not only getting louder- its getting better at influencing what people buy. 36 percent of shoppers say social media will influence their online purchasing decisions this holiday season- according the Adobe Digital Index. Twitter, along with other social media sites like Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram have gained traction with shoppers- and are ramping up their efforts. Just last week, Instagram ran its first ad- from red hot designer Michael Kors. But there is a catch- even though over a third of consumers said they were influenced social media- a mere 2 percent actually will make those purchases through the social media site.
